I’m a registered nurse, and long before I trained in aesthetics I spent more than a decade in the NHS — most of it in community and public health nursing. That kind of work teaches you to see the whole person, not just the problem in front of you: to listen properly, explain things in plain language, and earn someone’s trust before you do anything at all. Those instincts never left me, and they’re still the foundation of how I practise today.

Over time, though, I found community care becoming more and more reactive — stepping in once things had already gone wrong. I’ve always believed in the opposite: prevention, and giving people the understanding to look after themselves well. That’s what led me to aesthetics, and specifically to regenerative medicine. Learning how treatments like polynucleotides and exosomes actually work within the body — how we can support the skin barrier, work with the skin’s own repair processes, and account for all the everyday factors that influence how our skin behaves — is genuinely what got me hooked. Helping someone understand and optimise their own skin health, rather than just selling them a quick fix, is the part of this work that truly lights me up.

I built Amber Grove around that idea — the clinic I’d want to walk into myself. Somewhere unhurried, where you’re never pushed toward a treatment you don’t need, and where every plan begins with a proper conversation about what will genuinely suit you. So much of the high-street industry runs on volume and pressure; here, a consultation is exactly that — a consultation. If something isn’t right for you, I’ll tell you, because I’d always rather do less, beautifully, than more for the sake of it.
